Artyom Schelkunoff was born in 2002 in Tallinn, Estonia. When he was a child, his parents discovered his talent in foreign languages and he started teaching very early. Artyom gave his first lesson in English in 2018 – at a time when he was only 16. In 2021, he graduated from Audentes International School with merit. After finishing his secondary education, he decided to raise his teaching qualification and completed the 100% Online CELTA course at Oxford TEFL. However, it didn't make him stop there and he continued his educational pathway. Currently, he is studying International Business Administration at Tallinn University of Technology.

Sarah Kowash is an English teacher at Oxford House in Barcelona. She has been teaching general and academic English in the UK since completing her CertTESOL in 2017. Her current interests in the field include materials development, which is something she is currently exploring during her DipTESOL.

James Rowland is a Cambridge CELTA and Trinity DipTESOL-qualified tutor. He has taught English for Academic Purposes with Glasgow International College, at Glasgow University and spent six years teaching EAP and General English in Hanoi, Vietnam, before returning to the UK to work in Scotland. He was a journalist before he became a teacher.

Emma is one of our 100% Online CELTA graduates. She is originally from Northern Ireland but is now living in the South of Germany. She completed her undergraduate degree in French and Spanish and soon after that, she decided to pursue a career in language teaching. She loves foreign languages and cultures and I has been privileged to live in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Belgium and Germany. She is now an English teacher for young learners, general English and business English, teaching students all around the world from the comfort of her home.

Damian is originally from Plasencia, Spain and is one of our Leadership in ELT graduates. He has completed a Bachelor's Degree in English Language & Linguistics (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), Cambridge CELTA
and is also a Certified Teacher Trainer. He is currently Teacher Operations Manager at Busuu.

Andréia Zakime has worked in the field of language teaching for more than 15 years. She has taught young learners and adults, and worked with course design and teacher training. She is currently a Cambridge CELTA tutor based in Barcelona. She is also the co-founder of What is ELT?, a a blog dedicated to teacher development and education.

Monica Buenrostro is an English teacher from Mexico and has been teaching for about 20 years. In June 2020 she took our 30-hour online Teaching IELTS course. In this blog post she explains how this course helped her meet the needs of her students and the high demand for a specialised IELTS teacher.

Kirsten Campbell-Howes is a frequent speaker the the Innovate ELT conference, hosted and coorganised by Oxford TEFL Barcelona. She has worked in language education for nearly 20 years, starting out as an English teacher in Shanghai, before moving into developing web and mobile applications for language learning. She has designed courses and written textbooks for companies like Pearson Education, Harper Collins and Macmillan Education. Currently, she runs the Education Department at busuu.

Justin McCarty is an Oxford TEFL graduate and one of our friendly CELTA interviewers. Once you have applied for our CELTA course, you will be interviewed by Justin, or one of our other interviewers, so that we can find out more about your motivation to teach, your background and your suitability for the course. He will also be able to explain more about the benefits of taking this course and the opportunities which will open up for you upon successful graduation.
