Teacher trainer Billie Haase

Oxford TEFL teacher trainer Billie Haase has her very own blog and youtube channel with some very useful and interesting videos for EFL students and teachers. We wanted to find out how she has accumulated over 60,000 views on some of her youtube videos and a long list of subscribers to her blog in just a couple of years.

She started her career in TEFL by doing an MA in Communication Research and Phonetics and then going on to study for a PGCE in primary education at the Manchester Metropolitan University. After five years, she decided to change her career path slightly and in August 2013 she completed the Trinity Diploma in TESOL at Oxford TEFL Barcelona. She knows exactly what it’s like to be in the shoes of a teacher in training at Oxford TEFL! Billie now works at Oxford TEFL in Barcelona, training and supporting our Trinity Cert. TESOL trainees each month.

As well as teacher training, Billie is also a guest speaker at Oxford TEFL workshops, writes online articles on using new technologies in teaching for Excel College Manchester and maintains a number of online platforms to support students and teachers. She does sometimes find time for a private life in which she loves going salsa dancing, reading blogs, meeting friends and discovering new places in Barcelona.

The videos Billie posts on her Youtube channel help students to learn English, with a special focus on improving pronunciation. Each video has a very clear explanation and examples to back up the language point, so as a teacher, you can also use the videos in class.

She loves to collaborate with other teachers and has some collaborators such as Frankie Austin, TESOL coordinator at Oxford TEFL. If you are interested in teaming up with Billie on a video project, please get in touch.
