The aim of this workshop is to provide the teacher with a range of educational technology tools. Together, we will examine technology designed for in class collaboration, and also to help connect the students with English outside the classroom.
With the right activities we can use technology to challenge and motivate students, encouraging language production in a range of different contexts.
With the right tools, teachers can really make the most of their students’ class time, connecting them with authentic materials and native speakers.
And with the right treatment of technology, teachers can encourage learner autonomy, building confidence with listening, speaking, reading, writing and also research skills – across a range of levels – for young learners, teens and adult learners.
The work shop will touch upon how best to prepare a connected class, featuring interactive images for use in narrow reading, animation and script writing, the benefits of social networking and instant connection, including broadcasting classroom radio shows, animated speaking avatars, and more.
There will even be a competition – giving two lucky teachers the chance to win a subscription to Voki Classroom, a fantastic classroom resource for young learners!
David Young’s workshop will take place at Oxford TEFL in Prague on March 15th.
