Info about the course

Terms and conditions of enrolment for the CELTA (TEFL) + Spanish Program in Barcelona

  1. In order to enrol in the CELTA + Spanish program, applicants must be accepted onto a CELTA course and have a Spanish level of between A1 (Beginner) and B2 (Upper-Intermediate).
  2. Your place and fees on the CELTA course and Spanish classes cannot be transferred to another person.
  3. The CELTA course will be taken during the first month of the package and the Spanish classes and activities will be taken during the second and third month of the package. It is not possible to change the order of these courses.
  4. The Spanish classes consist of 8 hours of Spanish class per week in-centre. It is not possible to take these classes online.
  5. The cultural activities comprise a variety of activities such as guided walks, days out and enjoyable local classes to help practice Spanish and meet other people. The exact activities that applicants will participate in will depend on the time of year and availability.
  6. All full-time CELTA courses in Barcelona include either 19 or 20 days of class (depending on holidays). The course fees are not affected by the course duration.
  7. Participants must have their own laptop with Windows or Mac OS to participate in the CELTA course in Barcelona.
  8. If you would like to postpone your registration to the CELTA + Spanish program and notify us…
    • …at least 14 days prior to the first day of your CELTA + Spanish program, all fees can be carried forward to a future CELTA + Spanish program.
    • …less than 14 days prior to the first day of your the program start date or within the first 14 days of the program, €2800 of the fees paid can be carried forward to a future course or program.
    • …after the first 14 days of the program, no fees can be carried forward to a different program.
  9. If you would like to cancel your enrolment in the CELTA + Spanish program and you notify us…
    • …at least 14 days prior to the first day of your CELTA + Spanish program, all fees minus a €700 administration fee will be refunded.
    • …less than 14 days prior to the first day of your the CELTA + Spanish program start date or within the first 14 days of the program, €2800 will be refunded.
    • …after the first 14 days of the program, no refund will be made.
  10.  In the unlikely event that a CELTA course is cancelled, you will be offered an alternative program or a full refund. We reserve the right to cancel a CELTA course up to 5 days before the start date. Trainees are advised to have cancellation insurance for their flights and to check the refund policy before making any payments to a third party (e.g., flights, insurance, accommodation, etc.).
  11. In order to receive the Cambridge CELTA certificate, you must pass all assessments successfully.
  12. In order to receive the Oxford TEFL certificate of participation for the CELTA + Spanish program, you must pass the CELTA, attend at least 80% of Spanish lessons and at least 6 activities.
  13. Oxford TEFL cannot be held responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings.
  14. Oxford TEFL cannot be held responsible for the applicant’s external costs such as flights, accommodation or insurance.
  15. You may be placed with more than one host during the full period of your studies.
