Course duration

Candidates enrolled in the full Trinity DipTESOL course (bundle) have up to two years to complete all four modules. Any module which has not been completed or passed within the two-year deadline will require repayment to take the module.

Academic Standing

  • In order to remain in good academic standing, candidates must submit and pass at least 80% of the assignments during the preparation phase in each module.
  • All module 2 candidates must be teaching at least one group of learners while they complete this course. This is a requirement by Trinity College London without which the action research cannot be completed.
  • Module 3 candidates must do an internal mock exam during the preparation phase before registering for the official Unit 3 assessment.
  • Module 4 candidates must participate in the internal teaching practice during the preparation phase before registering for the official Unit 4 assessment.
  • If these conditions are not met, the candidate will be considered to have withdrawn from the course, and no fees will be refunded. Exceptions may be made at our discretion if sufficient evidence is provided of an extenuating circumstance.
  • We reserve the right to postpone a candidate’s assessment based on their performance during the preparation phase. In such cases, the candidate will receive guidance on how to proceed with their official assessment.
  • Internal assessment carried out by Oxford TEFL during the preparation phase in each module does not affect the results of the official assessment by Trinity College London. The official certificate is only obtained if candidates successfully pass external assessment by Trinity College London.
  • All official assessment results are issued by Trinity College London. If a candidate would like to have their results reviewed, they should follow their appeals policy.

Plagiarism and Academic Malpractice

  • All candidates must read and sign Oxford TEFL’s plagiarism and malpractice policy before the start of their course.
  • If plagiarism, intended or unintended, is detected, the candidate will receive a warning. Repeated offences will result in expulsion from the course, with no refund given.

Visas

  • If you would like to do your teaching practice in Barcelona or Hong Kong, it is your responsibility to check if you need a visa for your preferred location. If you are required to apply for a visa, you will need to make an appointment at least three months in advance of travel to ensure that your visa is received in time.
  • If you require a Schengen visa for Spain, you will need to submit your application to BLS International. We can provide a letter for this visa application for a €60 fee.
