What would it be like to be a teacher trainer in our centre in Kerala? Oxford TEFL trainer Dani Jones, who is normally based in our Cadiz centre, has just undertaken this challenge to enhance both her professional and personal skills as Director of Teacher Training.
For two weeks, Dani was the Course Director of the Trinity Certificate in TESOL course located in Kerala, India. She performed a wide range of tasks such as course organisation and administration, input session tutor and teaching practice tutor. Also on a professional side, she seized the opportunity to learn about a different variety of English and it’s challenges in terms of pronunciation, strengths and weaknesses students have. While fully immersed in her role in Kerala, Dani recalls that teaching and working with local people, increasing her cultural awareness both in and outside of the classroom was one of the most rewarding aspects of this experience. What an amazing place Kerala is and what an experience!
