Are you planning to attend the IATEFL International Annual Conference this April 3rd – 7th 2017 in Glasgow? With an attendance of over 2500 ELT professionals it is an amazing chance to meet with specialists of all areas, attend workshops and talks or make new connections at the designated jobs market event. Oxford TEFL will be represented at this year’s event by teacher trainers Nicola Meldrum, Mark McKinnon, Dan Baines and Karin Krummenacher.
You might know Nicola and Mark from Oxford TEFL Barcelona or from their blog Teach Pronunciation. Pick up some practical ideas on how to fully integrate pronunciation into your classroom work during their talk at 15.20 on Tuesday 4th April. Nicola will also give the closing plenary at the teacher development special interest group (TDSIG) pre-conference event on Monday 3rd April.
Karin and Dan from Oxford TEFL Prague will give a talk on nativespeakerism in EFL and how to promote equality through teacher training at 14.00 on Thursday 6th April. You can also visit Karin’s poster presentation on the topic on Monday 3rd April at the teacher training and education special interest group (TTEDSIG) pre-conference event and have a chat. Find the full conference programme here.
On Wednesday 5th April the Oxford TEFL crew will meet up with graduates to catch up over a drink at 19.00. Stay informed on the exact location and RSVP to the event here. Bring your friends and colleagues and if you’re within the first 20 to arrive, your first drink is on us. We hope to see you there!
