Cansu Akan

Cansu Akan, based in Istanbul, is a language education professional with over 20 years’ experience as an ESL/EAP instructor, exam writer, materials designer, and academic manager at tertiary level. She is a Cambridge CELTA tutor and has been a CELTA Main Course Trainer since 2015, training over 900 teachers globally and managing two CELTA centres in Italy and Turkey.

She holds an MA in Applied Linguistics and TEFL (Distinction) and is currently a researcher and PhD candidate exploring data-driven learning through corpus linguistics and digital methods in English language teaching. Approaching teacher education from a “teacher-scholar” perspective, her main interests are teacher training, instructional design, educational technology, and AI in language learning.
