We are excited to invite you to the next Innovate ELT conference at Oxford TEFL Barcelona taking place this May 11th and 12th! After the last couple of years bringing power back to teachers and learners, we decided to take a more lighthearted approach in 2018. That’s why the theme this year is Fun?! Delight & struggle in ELT.
There are many questions we’d like to explore in this year’s conference, and we’ll be discussing them through a combination of mini-plenaries, 30- and 60-minute workshops, live lessons with real learners, drop-in sessions and group activities.
Here are just some of the questions that we look forward to exploring:
- What is fun and what does it mean for our students?
- Does fun really have a place in the ELT classroom?
- How much should we make our students suffer for their progress?
- How can we make our classes more entertaining?
- How can we use technology to engage our learners?
- How can schools use fun to motivate teachers and trainees?
We are pleased to announce our line-up of speakers, including Scott Thornbury, Paul Driver, Claire Venables and many more from the world of ELT teaching, training, publishing and edtech! For the full program, visit the Innovate ELT website here. If you would like to make the most of your time at the conference, why not join one of our pre-conference events on Friday 11th May too?
09.30 – 14.00: Making effective use of video in ELT presented by Jo Sayers (ELT Jam Director) and Dan Mills (ITN Productions Commercial Director)
09.30 – 14.00: Exploring Group Dynamics – Duncan Foord (Oxford TEFL Director) and Anna Stubbs (Oxford TEFL Course Director)
We aim to maintain an intimate and friendly ambience at the conference so places are strictly limited. For your chance to grab your entrance to the conference, purchase your ticket here.
Still undecided? Feel the spirit of this event by watching this video of the conference last year and listening to some the reasons our speakers attended the conference here.
We hope to see you there!
