Cambridge CELTA (face-to-face in Barcelona, part-time)


Our part-time face-to-face course provides a more flexible way to gain the CELTA qualification at our working language school in central Barcelona. Maybe you are based in Barcelona and have a family at home or ongoing work responsibilities. Whatever your other commitments, if you have 20 hours a week to dedicate to studying, this course could well be for you.

Optional: 4-hour Extension Workshops (100% Online)

Our extension workshops are completed in one day (4 hours) and are typically held once every six weeks on a Saturday, between 10:00 – 14:30 Spain time. As a participant of these workshops, you can expect to leave brimming with ideas and activities to take straight into your classes. Optional: Online TEFL Starter (100% Online)

The Online TEFL Starter course is a practical 45-hour online course providing an introduction to teaching English as a foreign language. It is ideal if you would like to get prepared for your CELTA course with the support of one of our experienced CELTA tutors. Optional: The Developing Teacher Course with Spanish (DTCS) and Long-Term Visa Support

If you are from outside the EU and would like to apply for a long-term student visa, you will need to enroll in a course which meets 20 hours per week for at least 7 months (your visa will be issued according to the duration of your studies).

To reach the 7-month minimum, many of our trainees combine the 4-week CELTA course with at least 6 months of our Developing Teacher Course with Spanish (opens in a new tab).

If you enroll in 12 months of courses (i.e., CELTA + 11 months DTCS), there is a €100 discount.

Schengen Visa Support (Required for Some Applicants)

If you require a Schengen visa in order to visit Spain, you’ll need to pay the full fees for the CELTA course and our Schengen visa support service before we can issue a letter of enrolment for visa purposes. Optional: Accommodation Service

If you need comfortable accommodation which is within 30 minutes from our school, our accommodation officer, Rhiannon, will match you to an Oxford TEFL host which meets your specific needs and preferences. You can learn more here: Accommodation in Barcelona webpage (opens in a new tab).

Optional: Airport Pickup

If you would like your arrival in Spain to go as smoothly as possible, we can arrange private transportation from the Barcelona–El Prat Airport to your accommodation in Barcelona.

Optional: Spanish Classes

One month (32 hours) 100% Online Spanish Intensive courses.

We offer classes for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Choose from a variety of timetables and study for 2 hours per day, Monday–Thursday.
